STEAM001: 探究海洋、日與夜及游泳的科學知識

Get a certificate by completing the program.

1. You might think the ocean floor is flat, but it is not. Long chains of mountains form mid-ocean ridges that rise as high as 3 kilometres (2 miles) above the seabed. Trenches can be more profound than Mount Everest's height, and volcanoes are on the ocean floor. 2. The Earth is like a slowly spinning ball that takes 24 hours to make one turn. It is the day we live when our part of the world faces the sun. It is night for the hours when we are turned away from the sun. 3. Sea water, with its high salt content, is significantly heavier than fresh water. This unique property makes it easier for objects to float in the sea. It's a fascinating aspect of the ocean that explains why swimming in the sea feels different from swimming in a pool.
